Breaking News: Punishments Handed to Brady and Patriot’s Organization

The Patriots will start out the 2015 NFL season  but not without controversy: Tom Brady will spend his first 4 games on the bench as he has been suspended without pay for his role in Deflategate, but the Patriots Organization didn’t get out of it that easily: The organization faces a $1 million fine and loses its first round draft pick in the 2016 draft and a 4th round pick in the 2017 draft. for not cooperating in the investigation and for its violation of rules.”Tom Brady, however, can appeal his suspension” according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Schefter brings up another point: “Brady has been suspended for 4 games, which is what many other players get for taking performance enhancing drugs.” One would think that the punishment for him would be a lot more worse? If we examine the schedule, Brady will sit out vs the Steelers,Bills, Jags, and Cowboys. A lot of questions remain: Who will be the signal caller for the offense in the 4 games Brady’s out? Will the Patriots sign a veteran QB or let things be and let Jimmy Garoppolo or Garrett Gilbert get a chance to get his feet wet? Will Brady appeal his suspension? Will the Pats win any of those 4 games without Brady at the helm or will they easily lose? Troy Vincent made a statement to the Pats organization following the punishments: “Based on the extensive record development in the investigation and detailed in the Wells report, and after full consideration of this matter by the Commissioner and the Football Operations department, we have determined that the Patriots have violated the NFL’s policy on Integrity of the Game and Enforcement of Competitive Rules, as well as the Official Playing Rules and the established guidelines for the preparation of game footballs set forth in the NFL’s Game Operations Policy Manual for Member Clubs. In making this determination, we have accepted the findings contained in the comprehensive report indefinitely prepared by Mr. Wells and his colleagues.”
