Does anyone need a P more than Tennessee? The most veteran P on the roster is a 3rd year sophomore in Trevor Daniel with 2015 signee P Tommy Townsend coming in as a freshman. Nathan Renfro has been the P for the Terps the past 3 seasons, but has decided to transfer to play his senior season with the Vols. Renfro is literally coming back closer to home as he played for Brentwood Academy in Nashville. Growing up, Renfro and his family were big Tennessee fans, but decided to go to Maryland back in 2011. After redshirting his freshman year, Renfro became the starter for the next 3 seasons and averaged about 41 yards on 234 punts. According to 24/7 sports, “Tennessee 2015 long snapper signee Riley Lovingood, another Nashville-area native, has worked out with Renfro for the past couple of months and described him as a ‘talented guy with a strong leg.'” Renfro, being a veteran P might be able to beat out the other 2 P’s on the roster for the start, but if he doesn’t, at least he can mentor the others who need some more experience.
