Before I begin, I’d like to say I’m sorry for the absence, but I am back!
Now, the Rams selected former Clemson OL Isaiah Battle in the 5th round of the 2015 NFL Supplemental Draft. Battle started 11 games last season and suspended for an unknown violation of team rules. Battle is no stranger to off-field issues as he was cited for speeding and marijuana possession last month (according to the Clemson Insider), and suspended for punching a NC state player in 2013. As St. Louis selected a player in the supplemental draft, the team must give up a pick from the round he was selected in in the 2016 draft, so St. Louis gives up a 5th round pick. Battle’s selection marks the first time in 3 years that a player was selected in the Supplemental draft; the last time a player was selected in the Supplemental Draft, it was Baylor’s Josh Gordon; the Brown’s gave up a second round selection in the 2013 draft to get him. St. Louis Ram’s GM Les Snead plans to have Battle sit out a season and start his “rookie” season a year from now. With th Rams struggling on the O-Line, one can only wonder how Battle will perform a year from now when he gets to finally play an NFL down?
