Cleveland Browns: 0 and Oh, No!

Even with RGIII back in action, it seems the Cleveland Browns can’t really catch a break this season. The Browns are 0-14 on the season and are just two losses away from tying the 0-16 2008 Detroit Lions for the worst start in NFL history; technically right now, the Browns are tied with the 1976 0-14 Tampa Bay Bucs. Cleveland has two games left to finally try to get that long awaited win since December of last year, but it may not be an easy road; the Browns have San Diego in Cleveland and vs Pitt away at Heinz Field. The season began on a bad note for Cleveland as starting QB Robert Griffin III suffered a shoulder injury, which put him out for most of the season. The Browns would later use a handful of mediocre QB’s to try to get the job done, but to no avail. One of the reasons the Browns might not be doing well, in my opinion, is that they used 5 selections in the 2016 draft on WR’s. Now, I understand the organization had a lot of picks in that draft, but I think the front office should’ve used them on other needs that they may have. In conclusion, maybe we’ll never know exactly what’s wrong with the team, but until they get a victory, Hue Jackson and the rest of the organization will definitely be under pressure.

Breaking: RGIII Placed on IR

Bad news for Cleveland fans; Robert Griffin III has been placed on the IR with a shoulder injury. According to Ian Rapport on his twitter account, “The are placing QB Robert Griffin III on Injured Reserve with a fractured coracoid bone. No surgery. Reevaluated in 3-4 weeks.” It looks like Josh McCown will take over the starting job for the Browns, who are trying to finish not only with a winning record, but to end a playoff drought that has roughly lasted about 10 years. The Browns have went through numerous coaching changes throughout the years, and still haven’t found a long term answer at QB.

Breaking: Former Florida State and Current Tennessee Titans LB Retires

Former Florida State LB and current Tennessee Titans LB Kamerion Wimbley has decided to hang up his cleats for good. The 9yr veteran was drafted by the Cleveland Browns no.13 overall in the 2006 NFL Draft, and had a 2yr stint with the Oakland Raiders, but went on to sign a 5 year $35 Million contract in 2012 with the Titans. Wimbley, 31, ends his career with 322 tackles, 53.5 sacks, 9 forced fumbles, and 2 interceptions (with a 75 yarder being his longest) in 140 games; his rookie season was a breakout season finishing with 11.0 sacks, but started only twice last season in 13 games with only 2 sacks. In a statement, Wimbley thanked his coaches, teams, and everyone that had given him an opportunity to play football; with his retirement, Wimbley plans to spend more time with his family and pursue other things outside of football. With his retirement, this opens the door for other LB’s on the Titans roster to fill the vacant spot he leaves behind.
