Michael Vick in Black and Gold ?

After spending his last season (playing sparingly) with the Jets, the 35 yr old veteran QB signed with the Steelers after visiting them on Tuesday. The Steelers sign Vick to a one year deal after backup QB Bruce Gradkowski went down with a hand injury and was placed on season-ending IR. Not everyone agrees with the signing as some fans are actually protesting it. According to the 24/7 Sports link, fans could be outraged with the signing due to Vick’s criminal past. How can anyone forget that he served jail time for dog fighting, but was later released in 2009. The article goes on to say that: “While it’s been six years since he left prison, it appears many in Steelers Nation haven’t forgotten, and haven’t forgiven the quarterback for his horrid mistake.” Before he served time in jail, Vick was the number 1 overall draft pick in the 2001 NFL Draft of the Atlanta Falcons. Vick has thrown for over 22,000 yards and rushed for over 6,000 yards in his 12 year career. In conclusion, one can only wonder how Vick will play this year and if he will play with “Big Ben” at the helm?

*Update*- An article was published today by Fox Sports on how there’s already been 20,000+ Steelers fans who have signed a petition to rid the field of new backup QB Michael Vick. According to the article, the originator of the petition had this to say about why he created the petition: “‘Michael Vick is a convicted felon and no-class piece of crap. He is also a terrible QB which is why he has no team. Let’s united as Steeler fans – as NFL fans – and stop him from playing on our team! Steelers fans united! Sign to keep Vick from ever wearing the coveted Steelers uniform!!'”
